Small action, Large impact…

Growing up on the east coast I loved eating mollusks like clams and oysters, and one of the things you quickly learn is if you don’t know how to open them or they aren’t opened for you, that little gush of snot gets to live out the rest of its life that day.

However, a starfish does not have nearly the same troubles opening a clam or oyster because it only needs to create a small opening for its stomach to expel out of its body and into the opening to enjoy its feast. Yes, a starfish’s stomach comes out of its own body and slides into the small opening of the mollusk to eat its dinner.

My point is this, a small opportunity, when taken advantage of has the possibility to create a significant impact; a full belly or one’s dreams.

When you consider your accomplishments in life, it is rarely the bright lights of the outcome that were the start of your growth. It likely started with having said one word – yes – that created the path for your success. Success begins with action.

What you have planned to accomplish today, this year, or even this hour will truly become impactful based on the small action you take when the moment calls. Too often people get stuck thinking of the grand view, sometimes scaring themselves into staying stuck.

I challenge you to look at the small action(s) that you can take to get started moving in the direction of the life you want for yourself. Is it setting your alarm 10 minutes earlier so that you can have breakfast? Could it be planning your tomorrow the night before so that you wake up with a plan of projects to address?

Begin with a small action, repeat it daily, and notice how your life is improving.

What small action will you take to move in the direction of your best life?

You’ve Got This!

Cheers to 2021,
