Finish Line…

Speaking with a friend the other day, they shared with me how their year had gone. The year started off with a new job, it was going well, and they were excited about the way things were looking. A few months into the year and their dad was involved in a serious accident.

A few WEEKS later, and their mom had an incident that would require surgery. Both are on the mend. Then two months later social unrest took place across the country, their dog died suddenly a month later, and things within a relationship had become unsettled. All just months apart from each other.

And the year is not over, but it is close. Quite possibly your year has looked or felt something like this roller coaster of highs and seemingly more frequent lows.

Let me reassure you of two things:

  • First, you are still here, fighting to complete your race.

  • Second, you are approaching the finish line.

Perfection is not necessary.

Your struggles do not have to be insurmountable; they can be practice for you to achieve your goals and ambitions. A theme that I consistently share is about perspective. How you see your situations will often determine the outcome.

See the negative, expect the negative. See possibility, expect possibility.

As races will have sections that require endurance, and other areas strength, such is life and its ebbs and flows. Whether you need energy, strength, or a combination of both and then some, committing to the practice of showing up each day ready for what may come moves you ever closer to the finish line.

A step back is not the end of your race, it is merely information to help you finish the race at your best.

You are closer than you think. Keep going and Stay strong; You’ve got this!

Take care,
